    Description

Fall safe glass partitions at Nikhef Amsterdam.

In the background we see several walls with identical looks. On the first floor an iQ Structural 125 and on the second floor the iQ PROTECT Safe 2. Both walls look exactly the same but are substantially different.

    iQ Structural 125
A high-quality glass system partition with a thickness of125 mm and a profile height of 33 mm. The wall is equipped with two times 88a2 glass with a thickness of 16.76 mm and therefore has high acoustic properties.  The glass panels are interconnected with a so-called 0-joint where no vertical uprights are required.

    iQ PROTECT Safe 2
A high-quality glass safety wall that prevents persons from falling down. With a thickness of 125 mm and a profile height of 33 mm, this partition is identical in appearance to the iQ Structural 125. The partition is equipped with 8.8.a.2 (16.76 mm) glass on the void side and 10.10.a2 (20.76 mm) glass on the inner side.  The glass panels are interconnected with a so-called 0-joint where no vertical uprights are required.

    Extra high glass partitions
The glass wall around the first floor has a height of almost 4 meters. In itself, this is not so unusual. We can also make glass walls as high as 7 meters. What is special is that the glass panels are in one piece. So in the 3980 mm high wall, no horizontal partition line is used. By applying over 16 mm thick glass, sufficient strength is obtained to create a stable glass wall.

    synergy
This is now a great example of the synergy between the different wall types within the QbiQ range
