BDO Eindhoven - 923.jpg

    Description

A view from the bottom at a round staircase at BDO Eindhoven.

On the fisrt and the third  floor in this photo we see a floor-to-ceiling glass wall QbiQ iQ PROTECT Fire Hightech Safe on the void edge. This glass wall has a dual function. First, the wall is fall-through safe which prevents people from falling through the glass and second, the wall is fire resistant. In case of fire, the fire remains in one compartment and cannot spread through the building.

    EI60 classification
This glass fire resistant partition is EI60 classified which means that the wall, consisting of framing and glass panels, remains intact for at least 60 minutes in case of fire.

    Maximum transparency
As can be seen, this fire-resistant and fall-through safe wall does not have a vertical upright, thus ensuring maximum transparency.

    90 degree angle
Note the 90 degree angle of this beautiful glass wall. It too is completely transparent without uprights.

    Glass
The glass used in this wall is 31 mm thick and consists of a fire-resistant element and a fall-through element. The glass panels are interconnected with a narrow kit joint. No vertical uprights are required.
